Why Should You Join The New Hampshire Snowmobile Association?

Every year, 3 million people bundle up, get outdoors and participate in an activity that generates $27 billion worth of economic activity in North America-snowmobiling. Snowmobiling is a favorite winter recreation activity in North America, and it continues to grow.

Snowmobiling is one of the easiest recreational lifestyle activities to learn, making it suitable for all
ages. In fact, 95 percent of snowmobile enthusiasts consider snowmobiling a family lifestyle activity. Snowmobiling allows you to create unforgettable memories with family and friends while escaping the demands of everyday life.

In 2008, more snowmobilers went snowmobiling than any year before, and there are now more registered snowmobiles this year than in 2007. Registered snowmobiles in the United States increased 2.6 percent, despite the challenging economy.

Snowmobilers' level of activity is also rising. There are 230,000 miles of groomed and marked snowmobile trails that wind through beautiful scenery throughout North America, amounting to more
miles of snowmobile trails than in the entire U.S. interstate highway system. Miles ridden by
snowmobilers in North America jumped 17 percent in 2008 over 2007, with the average snowmobiler riding over 1,040 miles last winter. The spike in activity increased tourism-related expenditures and traffic.

The New Hampshire economy thrives on tourism and hundreds of thousands of its citizens depend on tourism and recreation for their livelihoods. The total impact on the state’s economy (direct, indirect and induced impacts) of snowmobiler spending was nearly $1.2 billion during the 2002 – 2003 season.
Total direct spending by snowmobile travelers was 1.0 percent of the gross state product and was more
than 10 percent of all travelers spending in the state. The popularity of snowmobiling is growing at a staggering rate as it provides a perfect way to enjoy winter and share family values.

By becoming a contributing member you can provide visibility to your business as one that snowmobilers will patronize. Snowmobilers love to spend money on their sport and are always looking for accommodations, restaurants, gasoline, guide services, snowmobile sales, rentals, repair and parts
and good old local knowledge of trails and conditions.

Recognizing the fact that your business can benefit directly or indirectly from snowmobiling spending,
the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association (NHSA) offers a Dealer and Contributor Membership for $50.00 per year. For becoming a member, supporting businesses receive a one-year subscription to SNO-TRAVELER, the official publication of NHSA; a bold listing in a special section of the newspaper;
a listing and/or hot link on the NHSA web site and a membership certificate to display.
