All first-time drivers in Florida who are 18 years or older, need to complete the Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) Course to apply for a Florida Learners Permit or Drivers License.

If you are ages 14-17, you can take the NEW FL 6-hour Driver Education Traffic Safety Course.

This course has been authorized by the State of Florida and can be taken 100% online without any hassles.

The Basics:

  • This course is 4 hours in length and is required for all first-time drivers.
  • The applicant must be 18 years or older in order to take the this course - even if the new driver is well over 18 years of age.
  • The final exam in this course contains 50 multiple-choice questions. 40 need to be answered correctly to pass. There is unlimited attempts at the final exam, but every time the exam is taken, the questions will be different.
