Florida First Time Drivers Permit Test

All first-time drivers in Florida need to complete the Florida First Time Drivers Permit Test to apply for a Florida Learners Permit or Drivers License.

This course has been authorized by the State of Florida and can be taken 100% online without any hassles.

The Basics:

  • The applicant must be 14.5-18 years old in order to take the Permit Test online. Anyone older than 18 can take the Permit Test at the DMV.
  • Your purchase of the online Permit Test allows you one attempt at the exam. For this reason, we recommend studying the Florida driver handbook and taking the included practice test first so that you will be ready.
  • If you do not pass on your first attempt, the State of Florida will allow you to try it online again. You are permitted three online attempts before you would be required to take it in person. However, you would need to purchase the Permit Test again to get a second or third attempt at the test.
  • A certificate is not required to prove completion of the Florida Permit Test. You will provide your personal information when you register for the test, and these details will be sent along with your test results to the state of Florida so that they can be verified when you apply for your permit.
  • Also known as the knowledge exam.
