Snowmobile Use On Rail Trails

April 10, 2020 by NHSA

Snowmobile ride on NH rail trails

There is a legislatively mandated committee updating the NH Rail Trail Plan, of which a significant part is used as snowmobile trail. Most of NH’s rail trails are accessible by other users because the snowmobile clubs and Trails Bureau have been keeping them intact.

SNOWMOBILE INPUT VITAL

The linked survey (below) is looking for input from trail users. Snowmobilers need to be heard! Read the instructions below carefully.

DATE OF RIDE IMPORTANT

A required part of the survey is the date of the visit you are reporting on. If you are unsure of the date, find a photo or facebook post taken that day.

SPENDING

They are especially interested about spending on the rail trail during the first three months of the year: January 2020-March 2020. Consider sled gas and oil consumed during the ride(s), truck fuel, meals, snacks, repairs, club memberships, maps, lodging, and so on.

FYI… We had to type “Snowmobiling” as a recreation in one answer.

SURVEY ONLY OPEN FOR 1 WEEK:
UNTIL APRIL 15

It’s a short survey, about 10-minutes. Some questions ask about your group, rather than the individual. Keep that in mind when adding total dollars spent.

New, Used, Refurbish?
Your sled needs work and you've been considering an upgrade. However the supply chain and economic picture has made the decision more complicated. Do you fix the sled or buy something else?
