FREE Indiana Permit Practice Test Online

This practice test is designed to help prepare you for the Indiana BMV Permit Test, also known as the Knowledge Exam. While reading the Driver's Manual is an important part of preparing for the test, it isn't the quickest way to refresh your memory. This practice test is designed to help you better understand what kind of information you'll actually need to remember. It will also help you feel more comfortable and prepared to take the real test.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE INDIANA PERMIT TEST

• The knowledge test is made up of multiple-choice questions about traffic signs and driving maneuvers.
• The test consists of 50 questions. 34 of the questions are based on rules of the road and 16 questions are based on road signs.
• You must answer at least 28 of the road rules questions and 14 of the road signs questions correctly to pass.
• The questions are drawn from the Indiana Driver's Manual.
• You will have 60 minutes to complete the test.
• You can take the test as many times as needed until you pass.
• If you fail the "real" test, you must wait till the next day before you can try again (if you fail the practice test you are not required to wait).
